Since graduating from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2022, I have remained in the city to establish my practice, where I work as a designer and textile artist.
A background in graphic design enables me to express symbolism through a distinctive visual language, my practice centers on developing contemporary interpretations of the beauty inherent in traditional textile crafts.
Having mixed heritage encourages her to bridge British and Japanese sensibilities which is the driving force of her design research. Rather than erasing history to make way for new, her passion lies in embracing the power of narration and storytelling to guide matter that intertwines the past, present, and future.
A significant aspect of her work involves repurposing local pre-consumer waste—discontinued products and materials from our industrialized manufacturing systems. By making sustainable choices and experimenting with these materials, she uncovers creative ways to give them new life while conveying meaningful messages. Reusing or repurposing materials poses challenges, but also brings a unique richness, as each material carries an embedded story and energy from its past.
